This year’s presence of the Prime Minister at Thessaloniki was a dark shadow of his pre-electoral appearances in September 2014 and 2015. The fireworks of hope were gone. The promising “parallel programme” of SYRIZANEL was stopped in its tracks. The only phenomenon that re-appeared were the lies: an acquired and in theory free habit. The bad thing were the protesting thousands of SYRIZA voters, who after recovering their memories had a dynamic presence at Thessaloniki, denouncing the Prime Minister’s false promises. Nobody, this time bought the deceptive forecast of growth, which according to the Prime Minister will materialise miraculously, almost unavoidably, after seven years of proliferating poverty.
The Prime Minister was indeed a pitiful sight. The trouble is that we all are, these days: Ill-fated Greece that has become a theatre in the world, the armies of unemployed and pensioners that go hungry. Has Mr. Tsipras or his voluble Minister of Labour ever counted that, with the exception of pupils and students, these two categories represent 40% of the population?
Unfortunately, with the mentality of SYRIZANEL, who hate excellence, progress, entrepreneurship, not even a candle can be seen at the end of the tunnel. It stays hopelessly black.
KOUMOUNDOUROS continues to argue that the exit from the crisis lies in the solidarity of the Greek people. There is only one reality. No matter how much we deny seeing it. And there is only one solution inside the European Union. A reform of the proven disastrous habits of the past: A clientelist State, too much State, a levelling down of standards, a denial of evaluation and meritocracy, a condemnation of productivity and innovation, third world health and education systems, a complete irresponsibility everywhere.
Non-values passionately cultivated by the Left, tolerated and adopted by the Greek Centre-Right of this century that have brought us to the universal bankruptcy of the economy, society, culture, solidarity and national unity. There lies the key. The question is: who will pick it up and dare put it into the jammed lock, in order to break it free and open the future of the Greek people.
The situation cannot be healed with pills. The festered abscess needs a lancet and a good surgeon. Can the Greek people provide the operating surgery of hope?
