Following the Prime Minister’s address to the Parliament on the notorious offshore companies’ amendment, the International Committee of the Baron Munchausen Prize unanimously decided to give this year’s prize, to Mr. Tsipras as the best myth teller of the post-junta period.
During the evaluation process, it was unanimously recognised that the candidates from SYRIZANEL easily fulfil the rigorous criteria of selection, which call for excellent qualification in applied, myth, pseudology, as typically exemplified by Munchausen’s tall stories, on his trip to the moon or riding a cannon ball.
Indeed, the clinical psychologists that participated in the Candidates’ Evaluation Committee, diagnosed in the SYRIZANEL candidates a complete loss of contact with reality, symptoms of acute moon-walking and mendacity fixation, as exemplified in the Prime-Minister’s recent apostrophe that: “We do not grant Left’s advantage in morality to anyone”. It is true: they do not grant it, they simply tear it to pieces.
Rife nepotism for entire families of party cronies appointed in well-paid government posts; legalisation of fraudulent civil servants’ degrees; explosion in the numbers of temporary civil servants, while hospitals do not have even gauges and medicines, on one hand. And, a government-confessed penalisation of the social classes that voted against the Government in last summer’s referendum, through a gale of taxes. These are some of the tested methods of SYRIZANEL that tear to pieces the presumed “moral advantage” of the “first government of the Left” as they self-style it.
The party holders of the chairs of power take no notice of these. Meanwhile, the economy goes to pieces, businesses close down everyday, swelling the numbers of unemployed and Mr. Tsipras spins out more tales of a forthcoming recovery and a new era. The truth is that the only advantages that his government dispose are – at best – an acute Munchausen syndrome and – in today’s sad Greek reality – a fierce complex of criminal immorality and incapacity for anything positive, unifying or constructive.
This is unfortunately the only truth, in the tragic world of the first Left-Right government that we live in.
