THE DECADENT LETHARGY OF POLITICS

Even the youngest among our politicians, grow old always aging, not learning. They show no sign, even an attempt, to capture the truth.

Tsipras and his company, despite the crash courses taught to them by Merkel, Hollande, Juncker and Schultz, govern in the style of Capodistria’s murderers. Their only “youth” is to be found in the disgrace of mediatic brainwashing.

The barons of New Democracy, on the other, are oblivious to the French Revolution of the electorate and quarrel over the biggest share of their stale sponge cake. It is extremely sad to watch the incredible, old-party void of the candidate who sells just his youth. Only one of the “younger” candidates articulates a political speech and gives some elements of his political platform. None is bold enough to speak the truth: That unless New Democracy dares ditch both Karamanlis and Samaras, it will never gain power again.

Only these few words are worthy of the absolute decadence of Greek politics, which is alas reflected in the choices of the electorate. If New Democracy earnestly aims at reforms in a European framework, why does it not set up some ballots for Greeks of the diaspora, who are by definition more sober and educated in such matters?
